Glenn F. Woodcock, 99, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since September 1985, died there, Friday, January 3, 1997 following a period of declining health.
He was born December 8, 1897 in East Hickory, Forest Co., a son of the late Frank L. and Hattie Ford Woodcock. He married Nellie M. Morrison June 9, 1921. She preceded him in death on August 1, 1976.
Mr. Woodcock was a trucker and farmer and also sold Seiler Farm Equipment; he retired in 1974. He had been an avid hunter and helped build a hunting camp, "The Crow's Nest," at Cherry Grove. He was a former member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mae L. Sutley of Guys Mills; one son, Richard G. Woodcock of Youngsville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys R. Flaugh; one grandson, Lynn Sutley; one sister, Esther Alexander and one brother, Ray Woodcock.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
