Glenn O. Weber, 88, of Tequesta, FL passed away peacefully Thursday, July 3, 2014 at his summer home in Meadville.
He was born in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada, April 11, 1926, a son of Daniel Weber and Anna Musgrove Weber, with a dual citizenship, and was proud to be a U.S. Navy Veteran. He served during World War II aboard the USS Saipan and USS Sicily. In 1948 he moved to Meadville, where he served a two year apprenticeship as a meat cutter at National Meat Market.
On May 9, 1949 he married his sweetheart, Mary Lou McKenzie, and soon after, opened the doors of a business he would call Lake Road Trailer Sales on the Conneaut Lake Road. Glenn was dedicated, hardworking, and loved people. His business thrived, and in 1971-1972, he developed Woodlands Mobile Home Park, a residential mobile home community on Carr Hill Road in Vernon Township which the family still owns and operates today. He was very proud of the fact that today, 42 years after its opening, many original residents still comfortably reside there.
Glenn was an avid golfer and member of various golf and social clubs in the Meadville and Tequesta areas. He was active in the community and served on many local boards and committees throughout the years.
He is survived by Mary Lou, his beloved wife of 65 years, and their four children: Lorraine Dallas of Meadville, Beverly McLamb and her husband James of Meadville, Amy Weber of Harrisburg, and Warren Weber and his wife Julie of Crawfordsville, IN. Glenn was the beloved grandfather of Megan Quintero, Katherine Dallas, Will Dallas, Kacie McLamb and Matthew McLamb. Glenn was blessed later in life with two great-grandchildren: Preston and Sophia Quintero.
Glenn was one of the younger siblings in a family of ten. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Hill, Virginia Slade, and Kathryn Reed and his brothers, Beuford, William, Paul, and Walden Weber. His sister, Dorothy Hull of Chatham, Ontario and his brother, Donald Weber of Meadville, survive along with many close nieces and nephews.
