Glenn P. Mickle, 90, of 739 Albright Drive, died at Wesbury United Methodist Community Saturday, October 25, 2003, after 3 years of failing health.
He was born in Bloomfield Twp. July 30, 1913, a son of Guy O. & Jennie Phelps Mickle. He married Dorothy Klein Aug. 3, 1940, and she preceded him in death Oct.13, 1967. He then married Eleanor Johnston Waid June 21, 1969, and she survives.
He was a 1935 graduate of Edinboro State Teachers College with a Bachelors degree in Education. He retired in 1976 as Chief of Quality Assurance at Talon after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II with the U. S. Navy having served on ships in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
He was a member and past master of Covenant Masonic Lodge #473, Cambridge Springs, a member of Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, and a member of Crawford County Shrine Club. He was also a member of Stone United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include 1 daughter, Lois Randolph and her husband Martin of DeLand, FL; 1 son, Douglas Mickle and his wife Alice of Corella, NC; 1 step-daughter, Mary Lou Gallagher and her husband Robert of Franksville, WI; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 1 sister, Vora Long of Meadville.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Cribbs Home Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park, Meadville, with the Rev. William L. Brown, Associate Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Miller’s Station Cemetery, Rockdale Twp., Crawford Co., PA.
