Gloria F. Smith

Gloria F. Smith, 76, of Guys Mills, died at home surrounded by her family, Saturday, October 15, 2016. She was born December 14, 1939 in Meadville a daughter of F. Melby and Leona Dailey Boyer. She married Larry W. Smith January 4, 1958 and he survives. She was a 1957 graduate of Saegertown High School and first worked at the former Crawford County Home, then as a private caregiver and then as a painter for 20 years for Schnarrs Construction Co. She enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, carving carousel horses. She was also very competitive enjoying fishing and catching the biggest and most fish and winning card games. She also always looked forward to the Kentucky Derby. Survivors, in addition to her husband Larry of 58 years, include: a son, Steve Smith and his wife Sharon of Plattsburgh, NY and a daughter, Susan Gordon and her husband Richard of Canfield, OH; four grandchildren, Danielle Brosan and her husband Michael of Berryville, VA, Jake Smith and his wife Keira, Amanda McClatchie and her husband Evan and Meghan Smith all of Plattsburgh, NY a great grandson, Levi McClatchie; two sisters, Barbara Thomas of Louisville, KY and Elaine Wray of Ford City; a brother, John Boyer of Cambridge Springs; her faithful canine companion, Susie and nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held in Greendale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W.
