Gordon Charles (Chuck) Tracy, II, 72, of Mercer Pike, Cochranton, passed peacefully, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville.
Chuck was born September 10, 1947 in Titusville to the late Willis E. Tracy and is survived by his mother Shirley Sibley Kirkwood. He was raised in Titusville and graduated in 1965 from Titusville High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War, stationed stateside. He went on to study at Penn State University and graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1970. He devoted his career to Troop E with the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville and retired in 2000 after 30 years of honorable service.
He was a life member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219, Vernon Central Hose Company and the Cochranton Area Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid sportsman, golfer, and Steelers fan but most importantly, he was an excellent provider, loving husband and father.
After many years of heart complications, Chuck was gifted with a new heart on May 13, 2013. This allowed him several additional years to enjoy watching his grandchildren be born, and watch all of his children go on to be successful in their own lives, using the wisdom and guidance he gave them.
In addition to his father, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister Mona Tracy, his brother Gregory Tracy and his granddaughter Annika Vanderhoof.
Chuck will be fondly missed by his wife, Diane Tracy and his four daughters, Jennifer Tracy, Valerie Tracy and her husband Phil Eisenbeiss, Alexis Tracy Vanderhoof and her husband Colby Vanderhoof, Jessica Tracy, and his sister Ida Spearman and her husband Bob Spearman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachel Bunter, Tracy and Lily Moodenbaugh, and Lily and Tina Vanderhoof.
Family and friends will be received Friday, November 29th from 1-4 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE where the funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County (for the Marquette Hospice House), 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335.
