Grace E. Smith

Grace E. Smith, 103, of Meadville, a resident at Wesbury United Methodist Community since 1977, died Tuesday, March 1, 1994, at Wesbury following a period of declining health. She was born in Lamartine, November 17, 1890, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Dietterich Shively. She married Herbert Kellog, who preceded her in death in 1928. She subsequently married Gaylord Smith in 1942, who preceded her in death in 1961. A 1916 graduate of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, she retired in 1942 as superintendent of nurses at Osteopathic Hospital of Cleveland. She previously worked as a night superintendent at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Emlenton, PA. Survivors include a daughter of Kaye E. Anders of Big Sur, CA; a sister, Gertrude Fleig of Emlenton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Dorset Cemetery, Jefferson, OH. Services Past Services
