Grace Flick Johnston

Mrs. Grace Flick Johnston, 85, formerly of Blooming Valley, died Sunday, December 11, 1983, widow of Floyd E. Johnston, after an extended illness at United Methodist Home and Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 1979.

She was born in Woodcock Township, May 5, 1898, a daughter of Martin and Olive Rider Flick.  Mr. Johnston died April 26, 1969.

She had assisted her husband in operating a family farm in Woodcock Township.  She had been recognized by Family Services for her service in raising foster children.  She was affiliated with Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Putt of Hurst, TX and Mrs. James (Thelma) Cousins of Mt. Hope; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
