Grace I. Lemke

Grace I. Lemke, 93, formerly of Saegertown, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born March 13, 1918 in Saegertown, a daughter of Lloyd and Ida Acker McMahon and raised by James and Bertha McGill.  She married Emil J. Lemke October 1, 1936 and he preceded her in death May 5, 1997.

Grace was a 1936 graduate of Saegertown High School.  A homemaker, she was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis McGowan and her husband Donald of Meadville and Norma Payne and her husband Francis of Conneautville; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Lemke of Conneaut Lake; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Lemke; a sister, Evelyn Walton; two half-sisters, Helen Stainbrook and Florence Grossman; and a half-brother, Carl McGill.

Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
