Grace Kenna-Krupa

Grace Kenna-Krupa, 89, of Conneaut Lake, died at home Thursday, March 6, 2014.

She was born July 26, 1924 in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, PA, a daughter of Jack and Vivian McMillin Dunlap.  She married William A. Krupa September 9, 1977 and he preceded her in death October 5, 2000.

She worked as an Executive Secretary in Pittsburgh for Universal Cyclops Steel Corp and the D.L. Clark (candy) Co.  She then moved to Conneaut Lake and built a home and worked in the administration office of Conneaut School District in Linesville.  Following her marriage to William Krupa, she returned to Pittsburgh and worked for Kelly Girl Services.  She and her husband would then spend their weekends at Conneaut Lake.  Shortly before retiring, she worked for Perfett Tax Service and the Cow Shed.

In her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling many places as well as spending many winters in Florida.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Golden Crown Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the Conneaut Lake Historical Society and Station #5 Conneaut Lake Park Vol. Fire Dept where she enjoyed socializing with friends and dancing.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and pal Shelby, gardening and many other summer activities.

She is survived by a son, Jack C. Kenna, Sr. of Conneaut Lake; a grandson, Jack C. Kenna Jr. and his wife Amanda of North East; three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Krista, and Emma; two great-great-grandchildren, Isabella and Alisa; a nephew, Jack M. Dunlap III of Virginia; a niece, Stephanie Small of Virginia and a grandson-in-law, Douglas Hirth of Pittsburgh.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack M. Dunlap II and William J. Dunlap; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kenna; a granddaughter, Lisa Hirth and her former husband Robert H. Kenna.

Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake with an Eastern Star service at 12:30 p.m.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, Assoc. Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to Lakeland Area Hospice, 2221 Peninsula Dr., Erie, PA 16506.
