Grace R. Dickey

Grace R. Dickey, 86, was a school teacher in the Springboro and Girard school districts.

Dickey, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville, died Wednesday, August 31, 1994, at the nursing home following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Albion, December 24, 1907, a daughter of Samuel E. and Rosamund Salisbury Reynolds.  She married Wayne E. Dickey, June 30, 1934.  He preceded her in death December 13, 1974.

She was a 1930 graduate of Allegheny College.  She was a lifelong resident of Girard where she was active in many organizations.  She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Girard, a former member of Lake Shore Country Club of Erie and Overlake Ladies Golf League.

Survivors include three sons, James E. Dickey of Lake City, John A. Dickey of Perrysburg, OH and Roger W. ,Dickey of Mountaintop; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Patricia) Strainbrook of Meadville; three sisters, Sara Nutall of Albion, Ethel Hedlund of Jupiter, FL and M. Jean Bailey of Hobe Sound, FL; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Reynolds.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Espyville Cemetery.
