H. Charles Pees

November 6, 1898 — September 26, 1979

H. Charles Pees, 80, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Wednesday, September 26, 1979, following a six-month illness.

He was born in Meadville November 6, 1898, son of Henry B. and Anna Elizabeth Wimmer Pees.  He married Dorothy Marie Cook October 1, 1923.

Pees was the proprietor of Meadville Electric Supply Co. during the 1920s and 1930s.  He was an electrical contractor until 1953 when he joined Talon Division of Textron as an electrician in Plant Seven.  During World War II, he worked one year for the Atomic Energy Commission at Oakridge, TN and did electrical work at the Keystone Ordnance Works where Kebert Industrial Park now stands.

Pees was a charter member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 504 and a member of Meadville Bird and Tree Club, Crawford County Historical Society, John Brown Heritage Society, Meadville Geneological Society and the Western PA Conservancy.  He also was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Pees is survived by a son, Samuel T. of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
