H. Arthur Dean

September 5, 1902 — January 10, 1955

H. Arthur Dean, 52, of Meadville, died this morning at Meadville City Hospital.

The well known Vernon Township man had been in failing health for several years but had been a patient at the hospital only about two weeks.

Dean had worked for the Erie Railroad as a welder in the local shops for 31.5 years but more recently had been employed by the American Viscose Corp.

A son of the late Harry J. and Roberta Dean, he had served as Vernon Township school director and had been active in other community affairs.  He was a member of Stone Methodist Church and had attended the Men's Bible Class there for many years.

Survivors include his two children, Virginia and Wayne, both students at Meadville High School; two brothers, H. Morris Dean of Vernon Township and Dr. Lewis K. Dean of Philadelphia; and three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Boylan, Mrs. Dorothy Miller and Mrs. Cecile Byham, all of Vernon Township.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
