H. Jeanne Kuhn

H. Jeanne Kuhn, 91, of Meadville died Saturday, March 25, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Meadville Medical Center. She was born August 7, 1925 in Butler a daughter of Charles W. and Auda Floss Johnston Hesselgesser. She married Guy W. Kuhn June 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death April 3, 1995. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and was co-founder and office manager of Kuhn Tool and Die Co. retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Golden Crown Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Meadville Country Club and Happy Hashers Square Dance Club. Jeanne and Guy were instrumental in starting the Allegheny College Golf program. They continued as avid supporters of the program hosting the Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Golf Tournament every year at the Meadville Country Club She was a wonderful mother and loved the familys weekly dinners and the family cards and games together. She also loved golfing, counted cross stitch and was an avid bowler. She is survived by two sons, Guy D. Kuhn of Clarksburg, WV and Kenneth P. Kuhn and his wife Bonnie of Meadville; three daughters, Patricia Avery Conchie and her husband Russ of Meadville, Christine E. Hays and her husband John of Meadville and Jacqueline R. Peters and her husband Doug of Conneaut Lake; twelve grandchildren, Heather Thompson and her husband William, Jenn Gadeberg and her husband Brian Martone, Michael Abrams and his wife Tyonna, Christopher Peters, David Kuhn and his wife Elizabeth, Doug Kuhn, Diana Wilkosz and her husband Andrew, Nate Kuhn, Brinda Kuhn, Rosina Johnson, Michele Osborne and her husband Craig and Russell Conchie and his wife Julia; twenty nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Ila Margaret Walton of Volant and Ruth Cooper and her husband Glenn of Slippery Rock and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles D., Dwight W. and Robert D. Hesselgesser and two sisters, Edna Henry and Ethel Dollman. Calling hours will be Monday from 3-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rebecca Patterson, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials be made to Allegheny College (for the Allegheny College Golf Program), 520 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
