H. Paul Wentworth, 70, of Guys Mills, died Friday, November 27, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Wentworth was born at Randolph Township, July 30, 1917, a son of Harry L. and Kerna Oakes Wentworth. He married Marie Laibe, August 19, 1941. She survives at home.
He was a partner in Wentworth Auto Sales of Mt. Hope with his father and brother, Gaylord O. Wentworth and more recently with his brother and John Bowser.
He was a member of St. Hippolyte's Roman Catholic Church of Frenchtown, a veteran of World War II with the US Army in Europe, a member of the former Randolph School Board and past president of the former County School Board.
Mr. Wentworth was a member of Meadville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Townville American Legion Post 994, Meadville Eagles Lodge 429, Meadville Elks Lodge 219, Oil Creek Beagle Club of Titusville, Rainbow Beagle Club of Cooperstown and Black Ash Sportsman Clubs.
He was former chairman of Pennsylvania Waterfowl Committee and past president of Northwest Division of Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsman's Clubs.
Survivors, in addition to his wife include four sons, Thomas P. Wentworth of Longwood, FL, William C. Wentworth and John R. Wentworth of Guys Mills and James L. Wentworth of Cochranton; a sister, Mrs. G. Stewart (Gladys) Hoffman of Meadville; a brother, Gaylord O. Wentworth of Guys Mills; four grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
