Harley R. Schauberger

December 14, 1891 — July 31, 1982

Harley R. Shauberger, 90, of Albion, a resident of United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital, died at the home Saturday, July 31, 1982, after a brief illness.

Born December 14, 1891, at Center County, a son of Sameul and Rebecca Caton Shauberger.  He married Edna Brewster, who died April 7, 1982.

He worked at Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad, starting in 1910 as a wrecking foreman, and in 1930 he began working as a foreman for car inspection.  He retired in 1957.

He and his wife were active in community affairs and were instrumental in the founding of Albion Park and Albion Library.

He was affiliated with Grace United Methodist Church of Albion, where he served as Sunday school superintendent, and was a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge 304.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Marie) Ceafe of Warren and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Earl, Victor, Gleason, Gail and Mail and two sisters, Blanche Miller and Letha Sloan.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Albion Cemetery.
