Harold A. Shartle

January 17, 1911 — December 2, 1978

Harold A. Shartle, 67, of Lake Havasew City, AZ, a former Meadville resident, died Saturday, December 2, 1978, at his home following an illness of several months.

He was born at Meadville, January 17, 1911, a son of Alvin and Marhy Rushlander Shartle.  He married the former Daisy L. Ervin, February 25, 1932.  He was a former partner in Shartle and Walker Contracting Co.

He was a member and past master of Masonic Lodge 408, member and past high priest of Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191, member and past thrice illustrious master of Timothy Alden Council No. 60, member and past commander of Northwestern Commandery No. 25, recipient of Knights York Cross of Honor, member of Coudersport Consistory and member of Red Cross of Constance and Royal Order of Scotland.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Shaw of Cheswick, Mrs. Elaine Morrell of Cochranton and Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Crowe of Saegertown; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Eva) Clark of Meadville; a brother, Kenneth of Meadville; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn in 1964 and one sister and one brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
