Harold Dewey Gleason, 69, owner and operator of Klover Knolls Dairy in Meadville, died at his dairy farm home suddenly, Tuesday, July 6, 1965. Mr. Gleason had been in failing health for several years.
Born in West Mead Township on August 8, 1895, he was a son of Oscar H. and Flora E. Dewey Gleason and married Ethel Bentley November 29, 1917.
Mr. Gleason founded the dairy in 1918. The homestead on which he resided had been in the Gleason family for three generations. It was originally purchased from the Holland Land Co.
He was a member of Wayland Baptist Church, Kiser Hill-Mead Grange and Junior Order of United American Mechanics. A graduate of Meadville High School, Mr. Gleason attended Allegheny College.
Surviving, besides his widow, are five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Harriet) Handley of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Edwin (Ruth) McBride of Meadville, Mrs. Wallace (Evelyn) Yoder of Franklin, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary Lou) Hillman of Geneva and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Hill of Blue Ridge Summit; three sons, Walter of Blue Ridge Summit, Edward of Mentor, OH and John of Meadville; a sister, Miss Helen Gleason of Meadville; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Wayland.
