Harold E. Bovee, 89, a resident of St. Paul's Homes, Greenville, formerly of Meadville, died Tuesday, November 28, 1989, at Greenville following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Grand Valley, Warren County, August 2, 1900, a son of William D. and Mary (Shutt) Bovee. He married M. Ruth Powell on May 30, 1923. She preceded him in death on February 12, 1985.
He retired in 1965 from Talon where he had been employed as a security guard for 27 years. Previously, he had been in the dairy business. He was a member of Emmanuel Untied Church of Christ and a former teacher in the church school. He was a member and past chief patriarch of Olympus Encampment.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Marjorie) Smith of Luling, LA; a niece; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, a grandson, a sister and a brother.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
