Harold G. Roha

November 17, 1899 — July 25, 1993

Harold G. Roha, 93, of Meadville, a former dairy owner, died Sunday, July 25, 1993, at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a brief illness.

He was born in West Mead Township, November 17, 1899, a son of August A. and Margaret Dunham Roha.  He married Edna Kightlinger, March 14, 1922.  She survives.

He owned and operated the former Roha Dairy which he sold to Meadowbrook Dairy in 1958.  He previously was an air pump packer and fireman for the former Erie Lackawanna Railroad.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, served on several church committees, and was a past chairman of its administration board.  He was a member and past noble grand of Cussewago Odd Fellows Lodge 108, member and past master of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 where he served as trustee and treasurer for more than 35 years, member and former chairman of the Masonic Building Assn., member and past high priest of Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191, former member of Timothy Alden Council and former member of Northwest Commandery 25, all of Meadville.  He was a life member of New Castle Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie and Crawford County Shrine Club.  He also was an instructor in ritualistic work in the 25th Masonic District.  He was a volunteer driver with Meals on Wheels and American Red Cross Blood Bank driver for many years.  He also was a book sale volunteer for the American Cancer Society.  He was a former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.  He was a judge of elections for Meadville Second Ward, Second District for 12 years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Donald M. Roha of Silver Springs, MD; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Mekeel of Brandon, FL and Mrs. John (Rita) Alcook of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death four sisters, Ada Mae Roha, Martha Wilson, Alice Gaston and Helen Cole LeFever; and four brothers, Edward M. Roha, Albert A. Roha, William J. Roha and Walter F. Roha.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
