Harold A. “Jake” Perrine, 86 of Sandy Lake, passed away on December 11, 2018 at the Meadville Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Jake was born in Sandy Lake on July 30, 1932 to the late Meade A. and Mildred F. Guiler Perrine. He was a 1950 graduate of Sandy Lake High School and owned and operated H. A. Perrine Insurance in Sandy Lake from 1954 until 1983. He then owned and operated H.A. Perrine Auto Sales until his retirement in 1998. He specialized in motor home sales and was known to many as “Winnebago Jake.” Jake married his beloved wife, Shirley Mae Elder, on May 10, 1952, she survives at home. Jake was a member of Lake Lodge #434 F&AM in Sandy Lake, Zem Zem Temple Shrine, and the New Castle Consistory, as well as a member of Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church. Jake enjoyed golfing and reading. In his earlier years he took many hunting and fishing trips to Newfoundland with his close friends. He was a car enthusiast owning many classic cars over the years. In addition to his wife, Jake is survived by his daughters Jill Carlson and husband Bill of Meadville, Jackie Perrine and companion Bill Long of Guys Mills, Lori Clark and husband Paul of Seattle, WA, and son Carl Perrine and wife Denice of Sandy Lake, grandchildren Jamie Harakal and husband Paul of Saegertown, and Samantha Perrine of Sandy Lake, great-grandchildren Carly and Camryn Harakal, a sister Carol Cumberledge of Port Charlotte, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his sister Frances Slater and her husband Brod Slater. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of SANDY LAKE 3236 S. Main St, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday, December 14. Lake Lodge #434 will perform a Masonic Funeral Service following the evening visitation on Friday. A funeral service will take place at the Sandy Lake Funeral Home at 11 am on Saturday, December 15, with the Reverend Elizabeth Creekpaum officiating. Interment will be private.
