Harold L. Borland, 91, formerly of Meadville, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Thursday, November 30, 1989, at the home following a brief illness. He had been a residence at the home since September of 1988.
He was born in Fairfield Township, May 9, 1898, a son of Edgar and Esther Hazen Borland. He married Ruth Ehrgott on February 22, 1922. She died July 31, 1987.
Borland was a life-long farmer and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He served two terms as school director of Union Township, two terms as township supervisor and was a committeeman in Union Township for 16 years. He also was a member of Cochranton Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Ohle of Greenville and Mrs. Bryl (Marian) Braymer of Saegertown; one sister, Mrs. George Hamor of New Wilmington; eight grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
