Harold L. Schreck

Harold L. Schreck, 79, of Meadville, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Meadville February 11, 1932, a son of the late Frank J. and Lavinia Emig Schreck.  He married Mary Jane Kirk May 9, 1959.

Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran from 1952 to 1954 and served in Okinawa, Japan.  He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local #28 and retired in 1994.

A member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Harold was an avid outdoors sportsman.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Mary Jane of 51 years, include two daughters, Mary Jo Hunter of Meadville and Beth Sturzebecher and her husband Kurt of Meadville; two sons, Mark Schreck and his wife Jennifer of Aurora, OH and Christopher Schreck and his wife Carrie of Edinboro; four grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Sturzebecher and Sam and C.J. Schreck; two sisters, Betty Kircher of Meadville and Charlotte Popney of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Lindsey.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Raymond Gramata as Celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.
