Harold N. Hills, 91, of Meadville died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born February 22, 1927 in Meadville a son of Marshall N. and Hazel G. Barnett Hills. He married Virginia Stainbrook June 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death June 30, 2012.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a founding owner in 1969 of BHB Industries in Cambridge Springs and he owned and operated Hills Pattern Shop in Meadville making patterns for the forging industry. He was a life-long member of First Christian Church and helped in three building programs at the church’s current location. He also served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Bible School Teacher and Church Treasurer for several years.
He is survived by three children, Steven N. Hills and his wife Ruth of Meadville, Nancy M. Coblentz of Seattle, WA and Philip S. Hills of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Christopher N. Hills, Mende Coblentz, Michael Coblentz, Ashley Hills and Ian Hills; four great grandchildren; a brother, Marshall Lee Hills of Indiana and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Virginia of 64 years and a brother, Alden E. Hills and a son-in-law, Lawrence Coblentz.
Calling hour will be Saturday, August 4th from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 503 N. Main Street, Ext, Meadville where the memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. followed by military honors provided by VFW Post #2006.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Christian Church, 503 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or the Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504.
