Harold P. Beebe

Harold P. (Hal) Beebe, 79, of 18096 Turner Rd., Meadville, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

He was born in Union City December 24, 1927, a son of the late Walter and Blanche Culp Beebe.  He married Eleanor Yesensky January 18, 1968.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II where he served from 1945 to 1947.  He worked as a Meat Cutter for 30 years at the former A & P, Loblaws, Super Duper, and Westons Grocery Stores.

He was a member of the Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111, Meadville, enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and especially time spent with his grandchildren, and was an avid NASCAR, football, and baseball fan.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Eleanor of 39 years, include a son Paul J. Beebe and his wife Laura of Guys Mills; 2 daughters, Kelly L. Mattocks and her husband Mike of Guys Mills and Cathy Beebe of Corry; 4 grandchildren, Summer Mattocks, Noah (Little Guy) Mattocks, Sophie Beebe, and Ella Beebe; 4 sisters, Ida Beebe, Audrey Morgan, Irene Turner, and Shirley Boesch, all of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harry and Raymond Beebe and a sister, Charlotte Carver.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A private funeral service will be Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Ferraro, Pastor of First Church of God officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.
