Harold Paul Parker

Harold Paul Parker, 70, of Conneaut Lake, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1934 in Albion, PA, a son of the late Cecil and Ruth Thomas Parker.  He married Lucille R. Raible June 6, 1959.

He was a veteran of the Korean Confilct serving with the Navy Seabees in the Aleutian Islands, Korea and Japan.

In 1961, he obtained his Real Estate License and became Owner/ Broker of Parker Real Estate Service in Conneaut Lake in 1968.  He was a member of the Greater Meadville Board of Realtors.  He served all levels on the board and served three terms as President.  He also served a term as District Vice President for the regional association of Realtor's.

He was Past President of Conneaut Lake's Sadsbury Elemenetary PTA.  He was a former Pack/Troop 221 Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader and a recipient of the Order of the Arrow.  He also was a coach and umpire for the Conneaut Lake Youth Association Little League.  He served on the Sadsbury Township Recreation Commission.  He was a life member of the Conneaut Lake Fire Department.

He was one of the initial founders of CLAAS (Conneaut Lake Area Ambulance Service) in 1977.  He became and Emergency Medical Technician instructor in 1980 and also served as a regional EMT evaluator.  He became a Paramedic and was the oldest active Paramedic in Pennsylvania at the time of his retirement in 1999.

He was an active member and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus 6037.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church.  He was a member of the Conneaut Lake Area Business Association and the Conneaut Lake Historical Society.

He was a loving father grandfather, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and maintaining his garden.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 47 years, include four children, Randy Parker (Carol) of Clayton, NC, Jay Parker (Kelly) of Meadville, Betsy Weed (Tom) of Rochester, NY and Christopher Parker (Amanda) of Conneaut Lake; three brothers, Jim Parker of Conneaut, OH, Ronald Parker of Perry, OH and Kenneth Parker of Edinboro; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Christopher Parker, Jr. and one brother, Virgil Parker.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
