Harold V. Free, 61, of Saegertown, a Woodcock Township supervisor, died Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at Hamot Medial Center, Erie as a result of injuries sustained in an accident in Cussewago Township.
He was born in Greenville, September 14, 1930, a son of Clyde Harold and Jessie Mildred McGranahan Free. He married Virginia Weyman, April 10, 1954. She survives.
He was a Woodcock Township supervisor for two years and previously worked for Avtex for 38 years. He also was a bus driver for F&R Buses of Saegertown. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Meadville, where he was a church trustee and a former member on the board of deacons.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Cheryl) Larson of Meadville and Mrs. Donald (Wendy) Andrews of Erie; a son, Harold V. Free, Jr. of Saegertown; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Jennie Mae) Breese, Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Pearce, Mrs. Roy (Jessie June) Holzapfel, all of Hadley, and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Heckman of Fredonia; a brother, Lloyd Free of Edinboro and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Free and three infant siblings.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
