Harriet S. Clark

Harriet S. Clark, 86, of Meadville, died Thursday, October 25, 1984 at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a brief illness.

She was born near Titusville, in Venango County, July 5, 1898, a daughter of Jean and Annie Taylor Sterling.  She married Reece P. Clark, October 29, 1932, who died March 19, 1969.

She was employed as Clerk of Courts for Crawford County from 1924 to 1936.  She was also Collector of Deliquent Taxes for the City of Meadville from 1945 to 1962.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Meadville Women's Club, member and past president of Ladies Auxiliary of Northwestern Commandry Knights Templar, member of Meadville Grange and Seventh Degree Club, charter member and first president of Business and Professional Women's Club of Meadville.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Marian) Clough of Rockville, MD; four step-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
