Harriet Shoffstall

September 3, 1908 — December 13, 1955

Mrs. Harriet Shoffstall Rogers, 47, wife of James A. Rogers of Meadville, died Tuesday morning at Spencer Hospital after an illness of several months.

She was born in East Fairfield Township and spent her early life in the Meadville area.  She lived for several years at Cleveland and attended Cleveland schools.  About 25 years ago she moved to Detroit and lived there until about five months ago when she and her husband returned to Meadville.  While in Detroit, she was employed as a switchboard operator for General Motors Corp. for eight years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl J. Lowe of Detroit; her mother, Mrs. Flora Urquhart of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. William Higgins of Rocky River, OH and Mrs. Edwin C. Kress of Meadville and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
