Harry (Shorty) Copeland

January 26, 1909 — August 8, 1974

Harry (Shorty) Copeland, 65, of Blooming Valley, died Thursday, August 8, 1974, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, after an extended illness.

A son of Moses and Jennie Galbraith Copeland, he was born in Forest County January 26, 1909.  He married Laura Galbreath, August 30, 1930.  An employee of American Viscose Division of FMC Corp., he took disability retirement in 1968.  He was a member of Crawford-Erie County State Police Encampment and a member of Black Ash Soprtmen's Club.

In addition to his widow, survivors include three sons, Richard H. of Cochranton, Terry O. of Saegertown and Daniel P. of Akron, OH; five sisters, Mrs. Goldie Bissell of Jamestown, NY, Mrs. Robert (Irene) King of Pleasantville, Mrs. Genevieve Nuttall of West Hickory; Mrs. Harry (Wilma) Williams of Tionesta; and Mrs. Phyllis Kelsey of Falconer, NY; three brothers, Perry of Bradford, Emerson of Titusville and S. Rufus of Saegertown; and eleven grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
