Harry H. Harmon, 49, foreman of labor and veteran employee at the Meadville plant, American Viscose Corp., died at Spencer Hospital late last night shortly after suffering a heart attack at his home on the Cochranton Road.
Harmon, whose widow, Elsie Shumaker Harmon, is also a Viscose employee, had been employed at the Meadville plant since 1929 when the firm first located here.
He was born in Clarion County, spent his earlier years in Armstrong County and came to Meadville in 1929.
He was a member of Meadville Lodge 408 F and AM, the Erie Consistory and Zem Zem Temple.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Miss Thelma Harmon at home; four sisters, Mrs. Ellis Brocious of Distant, PA, Miss Oleda Harmon of New York City, Mrs. Reginald Pyle and Mrs. Adam Miller, both of Meadville; and two brothers, Perry Harmon of Distant and John Harmon of Meadville.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
