Harry J. Schultz, 90, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since January and formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday, February 26, 1997, at his residence following a period of declining health.
He was born in Bridgeville, February 20, 1907, a son of John and Margaret Vogort Schultz. He married Marie E. Miller, September 13, 1932. She preceded him in death November 14, 1985.
He had worked at the former American Viscose in the acetate department for 27 years where he retired in 1969. He was also a farmer and operated a stand at the Meadville Market House from 1935 to 1980.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jessie (Laverna) Knapenberger of Hydetown and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; six brothers, William, John, Henry, Frank, Joseph and Theodore Schultz and five sisters, Matilda, Hilda, Helen, Margaret and Elizabeth.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
