Harry R. “Bob” Becker, 99, of Utica, PA, passed away at his residence on April 16, 2025. Harry was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on April 15, 1926, to the late Esther and Henry Becker.
Harry graduated from Carrick High School of Pittsburgh, PA, in 1944 before enlisting in the Army. Harry served his country honorably in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the military, he met his late wife, Kathryn. They resided in Nevada and traveled before returning to their hometown of Sandy Lake and starting their family. Harry went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree from Grove City College. He worked at Westinghouse, Sunbeam, and then retired from Joy Manufacturing. He enjoyed reading books. He loved history and would take trips with his family to museums. He also enjoyed hunting and shooting skeet.
Harry is survived by his children, Jack Becker, Crystal Becker, and Diane (Bill) Riggs; his brother, Richard (Nancy) Becker; his in-laws, Jud and Marion Egger; his sister-in-law, Joan Becker; and his many nieces and nephews, Michelle Shealy, Monica Ferlin, Marc Egger, Robert Weaver, Janet Patterson, Robin Becker, and Gretta Nappa.
In addition to his wife, Harry was preceded in death by his brother, Jack M. Becker.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA, 16153. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 21, from 4pm-6pm, with military honors and a funeral service to follow at 6pm.
