Harry W. Mcelhaney

Harry W. McElhaney, 76, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 4, 1981, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie following an illness of the past year.

She was born in Hartstown, October 25, 1904, a son of David and Clara Zimmerman McElhaney.  He married Bernice McDaniel.

He retired December 31, 1969, as a project engineer in the engineering of Talon, a division of Textron Inc.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

McElhaney attended the former Carnegie Institute of Technology.  He was a member and past president of Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Assn. and a former member of Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission.

He was a member of Adelphic Masonic Lodge 424 of Jamestown and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Mary L. Leslie of Fountain Valley, CA; three sons, David R. of Oxon Hill, MD, Donald C. of Stratford, CT and Maj. John R. of Sunnymead, CA and fifteen grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Hartstown Cemetery.
