Harry Robert (Bob) Wimer

Harry Robert (Bob) Wimer, 79, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born July 13, 1939 in Meadville, a son of Emerson and Edys Lackey Wimer.  He married Myrna Blum April 30, 1960 and she survives.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Youngsville High School.  He was a journeyman tool and die maker at various shops and was also owner and operator of H & R Tool.

Bob was a member of Masonic Lodge 234 and New Castle Consistory and life-member and past president of Vernon Central VFD.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a former little league baseball coach and cub scout leader, and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s Meadville sporting events and activities.

Bob was affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Myrna, include three children, Emerson Robert (Bob) Wimer and his wife Beth, Darla Boca-Wimer and her husband Tony, and Dale Wimer and his wife Diana, all of Meadville; four grandchildren, Nick Kightlinger and his fiancée Danielle Patterson, Jordan Boca-Wimer, Doak Wimer and Karlee Wimer; a sister, Marion Stuart and her husband James of Sugar Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Wimer.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 31st from 4 to 7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m.  The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rachel Johns officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
