Hazel S. (Porfilio) Steele

Hazel S. Steele, 77, of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there Saturday, January 16, 2016 following a period of declining health.
She was born July 31, 1938 in Meadville, a daughter of Adelmo and Rosemarie SanFelice Porfilio. She had been married to Stuart Turner and subsequently had been married to Richard Steele.
Hazel attended Meadville High School and worked for 13 years as the clothing manager at the Center for Family Services. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bingo, and was a former social member of the Italian Civic Club.
Survivors include three children, Lynne DeVore of Meadville, Randy Turner of Meadville, and Sherri Turner of Euclid, Ohio; a sister, Margaret (Peg) McHale and her husband Patrick of Meadville; a stepsister, Elsie Graham and her husband Norman of Conneautville; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Porfilio of Ashtabula, Ohio; a grandson, Jacob Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Porfilio; two sisters, Rosalie Risher and Mary Lou Cross; and a grandson, Devin DeVore.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Kiser Hill Cemetery with interment to follow.
