Hazel Whistler Zeitler, 94, formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, December 30, 1990, at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a lengthy illness.
She was born at Hunter Hill, Meadville, on April 29, 1896, a daughter of Isaac Henry and Sarah Ellen Kightlinger Whistler. She married George Zeitler, June 12, 1916. He preceded her in death November 5, 1987.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of Gold Star Mothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank D. (June) Prather of Conneaut Lake and Mrs. Walter C. (Shirley) Anderson of New Orleans, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Krasa of Meadville and Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Wood Cochranton; two brothers, Clarence Whistler of Meadville and Charles Whistler of Little Corners; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, 2nd Lt. James E. Zeitler on February 26, 1943 in World War II.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Agatha Cemetery.
