Helen Andrews Gibson

September 1, 1897 — February 19, 1980

Mrs. Helen Andrews Gibson, 82, widow of Lloyd C. Gibson, died Tuesday, February 19, 1980, at Tucson, AZ.  She lived in Scarsdale, NY and Chautauqua, NY.

Mrs. Gibson, daughter of Silas and Margaret Deissler Andrews, was born an her great-grandfather's farm near Conneaut Lake.  She graduated from Conneaut Lake High School and from Allegheny College in 1921.  She lived with her aunt, Mrs. Herbert (Isabelle) Dennis of Meadville, while attending college.  Mrs. Gibson's mother also lived in Meadville for many years.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by two daughters, Julia G. Axtell of Scarsdale and Mary G. Masich of Tucson; a son, Robert A. of Tucson; a son-in-law, John P. Axtell of Scarsdale; a sister, Mrs. Robert H. (Maybelle) Ewing of Columbus, OH; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edward (Agnes) Andrews of Phoenix; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Wilfred (Frances) Readio of Pittsburgh, formerly of Meadville; and one brother, Edward F. of Youngstown.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
