Helen B. Chapman

Helen B. Chapman, 86, of Meadville, died January 9, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

She was born September 2, 1912 in Alvy, WV, a daughter of Albert and Arta Ashenhart Knight.  She married Lonnie Chapman September 9, 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1965.

She worked for 20 years in the restaurant at the G.C. Murphy Co.  She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Padans City, WV.  She enjoyed crocheting, bird watching, reading and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, James Chapman (Joyce) of Springboro; a daughter, Phyllis L. Wybiral of Richmond, IN; two sisters, Madeline Sobil of Pine Grove, WV and Virginia Ferrebee of West Virginia; seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Knight and two sisters, Hazel Ferrebee and Lottie McHenry.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
