Helen C. Blocker, 75, of Meadville, a former registered nurse, died Friday, December 11, 1992, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born in Huntington, IN, December 31, 1916, a daughter of William D. and Grace Overly Brown. She married Lloyd S. Blocker, April 6, 1947. He survives.
She was employed as a registered nurse in Huntington, Cleveland, and Meadville. She was a graduate of Huntington Indiana High School in 1935, and graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Anderson, IN, in 1942. She was a member of Stone Methodist Church, and twice served as president of its United Methodist Women organization. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Caryl) Jewell of Meadville; a son, Richard Blocker of Beech Grove, IN; two sisters, Kay Dodge of North Manchester, IN and Joan Fist of Sarasota, FL; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Brown; and a sister, Beatrice Patterson.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
