Helen Sharshan, 87 of Youngstown, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 7th, 2023, at Greenbriar Healthcare Center of Boardman. Helen was born in Campbell, Ohio on November 9th, 1935, a daughter of the late Catherine (Garchar) and Joseph Sharshan. She attended Saint Elizabeth School in Campbell, OH, and Campbell Memorial High School. Ms Sharshan went on to work for the Penn-Ohio Towel Supply Company for many years. A woman committed to her faith, Helen was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, where she enjoyed teaching CCD with her niece, Kathy. In her free time, Helen frequented casinos and played the daily numbers. She also enjoyed taking her daily walks outside, and relished time spent with her loved ones. Those left to cherish the memory of Helen are her sister, Frances Viggiano of New Castle; nieces Kathy (Dale) Ross, Maria (Charles) Sapienza, Melissa (Chris) Enoch, Susan Marie Burke, and Pam Weber; nephews, Michael (Lynn) Viggiano, Gregory (Susu) Burke, Richard Burke, and Michael (Jill) Burke; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; all of whom will miss her dearly. Predeceased loved ones include Helen’s parents; three brothers, Eddie Sharshan, John Sharshan, and Nick Sharshan; two sisters, Louise Shary and Mary Ann Burke; and beloved life-long companion, Dominic DePinto. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Saint Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Parish of Boardman, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, OH 44512, with Reverend Matthew Humerickhouse and Deacon Paul Lisko officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery - Youngstown.
