Helen Elizabeth Barnett

Helen Elizabeth Barrett, 86, of Hunters Ridge Blvd., Meadville died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born August 17, 1921 in Petowskey, MI a daughter of Harry and Mildred Brotherton Haas.  She married Gordon O. Barrett and he preceded her in death November 23, 2005.

She was a graduate of Dormont High School in Pittsburgh and West Liberty State Teachers College, West Liberty, WV.  She was of the Unitarian faith.

Survivors, include: two sons, George H. Barrett of Bevard, NC and Gordon O. Barrett, Jr. of Jupiter, FL; a daughter, Betsy Barrett of Meadville; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John M. Barrett.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Greendale Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Webster, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
