Helen F. Gleason, 97, of Meadville, died Sunday, January 8, 1995, at Meadville Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born February 15, 1897, in West Mead Township, a daughter of Oscar H. and Flora E. (Dewey) Gleason.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School, attended Edinboro University, and graduated from Penn State University. She was a school teacher for 36 years in the Cleveland Heights School District retiring in 1962. She was a member of the Ohio Teachers Assn. and National Retired Teachers Assn.
Survivors include three nieces, Ruth McBride of Meadville, Mary Lou Hillman of Geneva and Helen Hill of Waynesboro; three nephews, Walter and John Gleason of Meadville and Edward Gleason of Painesville, OH and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Gleason.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Wayland Cemetery.
