Helen Hills Wheeler

Helen Hills Wheeler, 94, of St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Meadville, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at Westminster Shores Nursing Home, St. Petersburg.

She was born December 31, 1905 in East McKeesport, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Maude Cushman Hills.  She married Kenneth L. Wheeler June 9, 1933 and he preceded her in death March 22, 1988.

She was a graduate of Edinboro State Teacher's College and taught elementary school in the Meadville public schools.  She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Order of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron.

She was a former member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville and member of Christ United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hicks and Sarah Hank and three brothers, John, Howard and Frank Hills.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
