Helen Irene Courtright

Helen Irene Courtright, 89, of Horseheads, NY, died Saturday, August 19, 2000 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY.

She was born in Greenwood Township, Crawford County, October 10, 1910, a daughter of Albert Lynn and Nellie Christine Loper Brown.  She married Milton A. Courtright, August 6, 1953 and he survives.

She was a longtime member of Oakwood United Methodist Church, a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #1837, Horseheads, NY.  She was a Daughter of the Nile, past president and member of the Association for Office Professionals and past president of the Elmira Grottoetts.  She retired from the Carnavelle and Flanagan accounting firm in Horseheads, NY as a secretary after 34 years of service.  Her favorite hobby and pastime was knitting.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances F. Kuntz and Mary Alice Holder and a brother, Ellis Brown.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
