Helen L. Siverling, 77, of 307 Lincoln Ave., Meadville, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born October 26, 1926 in Indianhead, Fayette Co., PA, a daughter of the late George and Katherine Harkom Craig. She married Edward V. Scott May 16, 1955 and he preceded her in death June 4, 1965. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School. She was owner and operator with her husband of the former Wayside Inn Restaurant, Cambridge Springs. She subsequently worked as head cook at the Sky Light Dining Hall, Allegheny College for 7 years and then worked as a child care provider for numerous local families for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and avidly watched the Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune game shows.
She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Darlene R. Scott of Meadville; Barbara Frack and her husband Gordon of Coopersburg; and Jacqueline Donnell of Guys Mills; a son, George Edward Wagner and his wife Betty Ann of Allentown; 2 Sisters, Betty Rowe of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Luella Craig of Ligonier; 2 brothers, Frank Craig of Lawton, OK and her twin, Charles Craig and his wife Virginia of Columbus, OH; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Melinda Fisher.
Calling hours will be Sunday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Brumagin, Meadville Medical Center Chaplain, officiating.
Burial will be in Venango Cemetery.
