Helen Lousie Hart Dodson

Helen Louise Hart Dodson, 80 of Sandy Lake, passed away at 7:25 PM on July 28, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove in Harrisville. Helen was born in Grove City on February 3, 1938 to the late Stanley L. and Alberta E. Osborne Dickson. She was a graduate of Grove City High School and served as the Tax Collector in Sandy Lake for many years as well as a Notary and helping file income taxes from her home. She married her husband, Donald Hart, in 1962, he proceeded her in death in 1978. Helen was a longtime member of the Lakeview Church of God and was very strong in her faith. She loved to play bingo anywhere she could and loved her crossword puzzles. She loved her Turner Classic Movies and loved to tap dance and go to Oldies Night Dances at the O.K. Corral and Sandy Lake Community Building. She always enjoyed a good hamburger and a plate of spaghetti. She loved her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and she will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by her son, Sherman Weaver and wife Elaine of Willingboro, NJ, Step-son Hal Hart of Sandy Lake, grandchildren Andrew Weaver and wife Jamie of Riverside, NJ, Angela Weaver of Westhampton, NJ, and Alisha Weaver of Willingboro, NJ, great-grandchildren Aviana, Jordan, Domonic, Andrew Jr, Chase, Isaiah, Noah, and Jackson, brother David Dickson of Grove City, sisters Donna Dickson of Las Vegas, and Bonnie Dickson of Grove City, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Allen Dickson, Harry Greenawalt, and sister Connie Farmer. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome on Thursday, August 2, from 1-2 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home following visitation at 2 pm with the Reverend Robert Mohr, pastor of Lakeview Church of God, officiating. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen’s name to the Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer Street, Stoneboro, PA 16153.
