Helen M. Schreffler

Helen M. Schreffler, 84, formerly of Fountain House Park, Saegertown and a current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there Sunday, September 17, 2000.  She had been in failing health for the past four and one half years.

She was born in North East, PA, November 8, 1915, a daughter of Alfred and Mary Pettibone Cornell.  She married Howard Schreffler August 12, 1933 and he preceded her in death March 3, 1996.

She was a homemaker and had worked at National Teltronics, Talon and the Crawford Co. Court House.  She was of the protestant faith.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting doilies and she did much sewing for family and friends.

Survivors, include a daughter, Mary Lou Sterling of Meadville; a brother, Fred Cornell (Ann) of Cochranton; a step-brother, Charles Cornell (Neomi) of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Jolene Schreffler, Paul Schreffler, Amanda Sterling and Lorraine Sterling; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Cornell and Melvin Cornell.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
