Helen Mae Wescott, 86, a resident of Meadville, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at the Meadville Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Tidioute, PA December 2, 1915, she was the daughter of William Robert and Ina Ellen Thompsett Jenkins. She married Norman Louis Wescott in Meadville on September 17, 1938 and he preceded her in death January 16, 1990.
She was employed in the purchasing department at Talon, Inc. and served as the office secretary of Eagles Aerie #429 for many years. She was a 1933 graduate of Titusville High School and had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville. She was lovingly dedicated to her husband and family.
Survivors, include a son, David Wescott of Carmel Valley, CA; three daughters, Julie Yanacek of Meadville, Susan Main of Meadville, Vicki Griffin and her husband Les of Highland Village, TX; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Altmeyer, Kristina Wescott, Jonathan Wescott, Amy Yanacek, Gary Main, Jr., Terry Main, Jamie Main, Les Griffin, Jr. and Ken Griffin; three great grandchildren, Hannah Altmeyer, Alexis Main and Emily Main; and two sisters, Julia Obenrader of New Port Richey, FL and Alma L’Huillier of Titusville. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Jenkins and her beloved husband of 52 years, Norman.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:30-5:30 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
