Helen Jean Magid, 90, formerly of Cleveland and a resident of Meadville for the past six years died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
She was born November 17, 1925 in Cleveland, OH a daughter of Matthew and Sophie Richnavsky Rerko. She married William H. Magid and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2010.
She was a graduate of John Jay High School, Cleveland and worked in the revenue accounting department of Ohio Bell Telephone Co. Later she worked as a secretary for various companies.
She was a member of St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Cleveland and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.
She is survived by a daughter, Laverne Galford and her husband Eugene of Townville; two granddaughters, Rena Carr and her husband Robert and Gayle Brawley and her husband Jeff and a great granddaughter, Nicole Brawley.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Kohler.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with Fr. Daniel Prez, of St. Hippolyte Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
