Helen Marie Kent

Helen Marie Kent, 64, of Guys Mills, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Meadville Medical Center, after an illness of 18 months.  She was born in Boggs Township, Clearfield County, April 4, 1936, a daughter of the late R. Wesley and Mary Weaver Hoover.  She married Gordon Kent, Sr. and he survives.

She was a 1955 graduate of Clearfield High School, and had been employed at one time for Davison's Dairy Bar, Isaly's and Super Duper all of Meadville, and had been secretary for the Guys Mills Water Co. for several years.

She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, as well as taking care of others and cake decorating.

She was a member of Cochranton United Brethren Church.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mary Sampson; three sons, Gordon Kent, Jr. (Lisa), Bob Kent (Deb) and Allen Kent, all of Guys Mills; one sister, Donna Shumaker of Guys Mills; three brothers, Wes Hoover (Alice) of Salem, OH, Carl Hoover of Coatesville and Lee Hoover (Jenny) of Westgrove, PA; five grandchildren, Jeremi Kent, Brian Kent, Marie Sampson, Nathan Blystone and Zack Blystone; four step-grandchildren, Tom, Shannon, Brad and Billy Urey; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hoover.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Radle Cemetery, Randolph Township.
